Several members from The Triple Helix European region, led by Philippe Bradley, COO Europe, met in person on Tuesday for a day-long discussion. All United Kingdom chapters were represented in the discussion, which focused on both regional and international affairs. The group was able to discuss localized ideas for business development, marketing, science policy events, and much more. In addition, they were able to share their concerns and ideas for improving the international structure and communication.
This meeting was the first such Triple Helix conference held outside the United States. With a large workforce of students around the globe, each on a different school schedule, it is difficult to interact on a face-to-face level, but The Triple Helix continues to facilitate conferences such as this one in the UK. In addition, The Triple Helix has held three large conferences in the last two years, including its first US national conference in September of 2006. Currently, plans for the first international conference are under way.
