The Triple Helix continues to expand to various universities around the world. Most recently, chapters were founded at Hong Kong University and University of California Davis, founded by Chan Hei Ching and Frank Sousa, respectively. As people are becoming more aware of the need for interdisciplinary education, students at various universities around the world continue to inquire about starting their own chapters of The Triple Helix.

Hong Kong University and UC Davis are just two of many more universities where The Triple Helix has planned to expand. The organization is looking to establish additional chapters in China, Australia, Ireland, and the United States.

As recently as 2006, international expansion seemed like a long shot for a group of undergraduate students. Not even a year later, nearly ten chapters have been established on four continents with several more coming. As all international organizations before it, The Triple Helix has faced numerous challenges in expanding globally and has overcome many of them. The expansion has been so successful that several projects, in addition to the undergraduate journal, are under way in the United States, including science policy and even a high-school edition of the journal. In the next year, these projects will soon continue to grow and expand globally as well.
