IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Lodging for the 2012 conference must be reserved by February 26 at 11:59 EST! This can be done here. In addition, there is now an official website for the conference, which contains detailed information. Please consider attending if you will be in the DC area or are able to travel there! We would be especially delighted for TTH Alumni to share the experience.
Washington, D.C. | March 29-31, 2012
The EMT warmly invites you to The Triple Helix 2012 Annual Conference to be held in Washington DC from March 30 to April 1, 2012. Unlike in previous years, this conference will not be on the same weekend as the AAAS conference (held in Vancouver next year). However, part of the conference will be in collaboration with STGlobal (http://stglobal.org/), a graduate student organization with a mission similar to that of The Triple Helix and a partner of the AAAS.
General Schedule
Friday, March 30: TTH Reception at GWU
Saturday, March 31: Conference with STGlobal and student poster sessions (see below)
Sunday, April 1: TTH Leadership Summit
Poster Sessions
STGlobal will be hosting a poster session during their conference from March 30-31. This poster session is open to all TTH members, and you are welcome to apply under their guidelines. Please note that the deadline for the STGlobal poster session is November 30th, 2011.
The Triple Helix will be hosting a separate, TTH-ONLY student poster session, to be held also on Saturday, March 31st. The process for selection will be similar to previous years where writers submit abstracts to the Executive Editor-in-Chief on subjects relating to their TTH research articles or outside research pertaining to science and technology in society. Although this poster session is not held with AAAS, we still uphold the same expectations for the quality of our submissions. This is a great opportunity to build your presentation skills in a professional setting. ALL TTH WRITERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. Please stay tuned for deadlines and more detailed submission guidelines.
TTH Leadership Summit
We realize that attendees to the 2012 conference will not be able to attend AAAS events during the same weekend. However, this is an opportunity for us to focus on leadership skills needed for chapter management. Even though we are an international organization, TTH operates on an interpersonal communication basis, and the annual conference is the perfect chance for you to network with the EMT, other TTH Chapters, Board of Directors, and graduate students from STGlobal. The Leadership Summit on April 1 will be TTH-Only and will focus on various divisions within the organization. It will be interactive, informative, and definitely worth your time!
We look forward to seeing you in March!
